In June 2024, Jeff McGuire completed his term as Executive Director of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP), a position he held for over six years. Previously, he served as Chief of Police for the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) for over five years and spent 35 years with the Toronto Police Service (TPS).
Jeff’s career with the TPS began in 1977, where he held various roles including Unit Commander at the Homicide Squad and 51 Division, and senior management positions such as Staff Superintendent in-charge of Operational Services and Detective Services. He was Acting Deputy Chief of Police for Specialized Operations before joining NRPS.
He is a past President of the (OACP) and a member of several professional organizations, including the Canadian and International Associations of Chiefs of Police, FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA), and the Police Executive Research Forum. Jeff has also been active on numerous committees and community boards.
Jeff was honored as a Member of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces in 2011 and elevated to Officer in 2017. He holds the Police Exemplary Service Medal with Bars for 20, 30, and 40 years, and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. In 2024, he was named an Honorary Commissioned Officer of the Ontario Provincial Police.
Jeff holds a BA in Justice Studies from the University of Guelph and has completed various advanced law enforcement and leadership programs at institutions including the University of Toronto and the FBI National Academy.
