Proactive Solutions for Proactive Leaders
This course will explain where peace officers and civilians get their powers and authority to arrest and search in Canada and how legislation such as the Criminal Code of Canada and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, limits arrest powers and authority. Students will learn the classification of offences and the rules of arrest, release and charging and how they apply to each offence.

Professor Howie Page has been with TNT Justice Consultants from its inception providing valuable service and advise. Professor Page has taught in college settings since 1999. Prior to joining the educational field, Professor Page enjoyed a distinguished policing career retiring as a senior officer with the Toronto Police Service.
Professor Page has co-authored three national textbooks used in colleges, universities, and law enforcement organizations throughout Canada. They are Police Powers, (First and Second Editions) and Introduction to Emergency Management in Canada.
Professor Page is currently the Coordinator and Professor at Centennial College in Toronto, teaching in the Police Foundations Diploma program.
